This month on CAD Chats, I’m sitting down with Jade Wei, founder of Atelier WCMF, to talk about what happens when traditional fashion craft meets 3D and AI. Jade brings more than 20 years of experience across fashion design, pattern cutting, tailoring, technical development and product development, and today she combines that foundation with CLO3D and AI. One of the things we get into is something I think more designers need to understand: finishing the 3D garment doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve finished developing the product. We talk about why garment construction knowledge still matters in 3D, what needs to happen before a digital garment is truly production-ready, how tech packs and pattern ownership fit into the process, and where AI can genuinely support fashion development.
